Sandbridge Beach Wedding

It was a real pleasure to photograph this Sandbridge beach wedding a couple of weeks ago. The sneak preview was tough to put together - there are so many fun, beautiful photos of this beautiful couple and their family and friends. We started by capturing as many family photos as possible - as this was an opportunity for the bride and groom's families to get together, have some fun and witness their beautiful beach-front ceremony.

So, without further ado, here are your sneak peek photos - to the beautiful bride and groom, hope you enjoy these photos and I look forward to sharing the entire gallery with you soon!

The bride's beautiful hair - I wanted to give this photo some texture to set off the beautiful tones.

A moment during the ceremony - again, this version of the photo has texture. The bride and groom will also receive the non-textured version. A beach wedding offers an opportunity to capture some interesting perspectives since you can walk around the ceremony.Img_9942web

Also loved this photo in vintage tones - the tones work beautifully with the white clothing. Img_9081_web

The new family - love those happy smiles!Img_0083_web

These two were also a joy to photograph!Img_0092_web

Had to share one of the group shots - a memorable reunion to remember for many years to come!Img_0426web

Love this shot of the two of them with the full moon behind them. Many of their relationship milestones were also marked by a full moon. Img_0468web

Wedding Sneak Preview

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing a private wedding ceremony at the Virginia Beach Hilton and family photos afterwards for the bride and groom and the newly combined family of their three children - who are all as nice as they are beautiful on the outside. We had gorgeous weather and were able to take some of the photos on a balcony just outside the room where they were married.

"M" and J" - here is your sneak preview - happy one-week anniversary!

I love photographing wedding cakes - isn't that silly? I don't know what it is - maybe it's because they never run when you take their photo, they never blink and they are always beautiful.Img_8125acweb

Two of the three beautiful children - we grabbed these shots on the hotel room balcony just a few minutes before the ceremony.

A Fun, Creative and Unique Wedding

Last weekend I had the pleasure of "second shooting" with Catie Cleveland of Catie's Photography. We met a few months ago at a wedding she was shooting. I love her work and her style - very fresh and fun. She invited me to be a second shooter for her at a very unique wedding last weekend. The second shooter assists the main photographer by getting details shots and other shots that the photographer may not get - as well as other general assisting duties. It was a fantastic opportunity.

I learned a ton from Catie and about wedding photography in general. And the wedding itself could not have been more fun. The wedding took place outside and there was a great mix of traditional and non-traditional. There was an underlying '80s theme you'll see bits of - the chunky pearls they all wore, the bride's hair, etc. The bride wore a traditional dress and walked down the aisle with her dad to an '80s pop song ("Send me an Angel!"). She and her husband walked down the aisle afterwards to a Def Leppard song! They then were driven in to be presented at the reception on a tractor driven by the groom!
