Santa's Giant Tent

Santa brought this - little did he know it would take up almost the entire den floor. Furniture had to be moved to accomodate it! It is 5 feet by 5 feet by 5 feet high! Olivia adores it. It is now up in her room and serves as her new fort.

(Steve says the instructions should have said, "Pop open tent. Add new wing onto house to accomodate tent.")

Eating her first smore - definitely a finger-licking hit! (Also at East Beach on Sunday.)

Super-quick shots taken at the East Beach "Open Porch" tour in Norfolk on Sunday - it was so warm that she wanted to walk on the beach. The funny thing is that I didn't crop the second photo - just took in that way in-camera so as not to expose the ol' underwear!

I love the expression here. I see her beauty and youth and as her mom, also her Olivia-tude - it's all in there and though not technically perfect, this is one of my favorites of her because it does capture so well who she is.

Things are looking up

  • Just a note: This doesn't mean we've decided who we'll vote for in 2008. But we're thrilled to see that Barack Obama has decided to run. We believe he has the potential to move the presidential race beyond, in his words, "divisive idealogical politics." And that would be a refreshing change, no matter who wins.
