I used to love to read. There was nothing that I loved more than spending a Sunday afternoon reading a good book. I was not too picky about the books that I read either. I loved all kinds. I would read a mindless romance or a good mystery. It didn't matter.
Then, I had kids. The longest book I read was Goodnight Moon. I never lost my love for reading, just the TIME. I would try to read before bed, but I would get one or two pages in and then fall asleep.
I recently jumped in the Twilight bandwagon. Let me tell you though, that first book took me probably two months to read. Seriously, two months for a book written for teens.
I loved the book and had to go buy the second one, New Moon right away. I got about two chapters in to that and has been collecting dust on the headboard of my bed.
I got this brilliant idea to get the audio book on iTunes. I downloaded it last weekend. I could listen to it mostly at work. I got through the whole thing in a few days. I thought, "HOW wonderful!!!"
I have since downloaded the third book, Eclipse. I am almost halfway through that - and in a week!!! Amazing!!! I love this!!! I only wonder why I didn't think of this brilliant idea before.
I no longer want a Kindle for Christmas - Just lots of iTunes giftcards so that I can catch up on my reading.
How are you fitting in good reads? A few pages at a time while the kids are bathing? Listening on your iPod? During your commute?
